Dear Adorers,
First, we would like to thank every single one of you for your kind and generous response during the last couple weeks. Many of you signed up for two, and in some cases three spots to help our parish resume Eucharistic Adoration at St John's. It was a parish family effort, and truly inspiring to be a witness of your faith and love for our Lord, and for your brothers and sisters. Your dedication and commitment each week to this queen of all devotions is a precious act of charity. It is you who enables the chapel to be open for any and all persons wanting to make a visit to the Lord.
Thanks to your efforts and generosity, Eucharistic Adoration at St John the Apostle will resume once again on
Tuesday, July 21st at 9:00 AM in the chapel. Each week we will have Eucharistic Adoration
beginning at 9:00 AM on Tuesdays and ending on Fridays at 8:00 AM. Hopefully in the near future we will add our Monday back, and who knows maybe someday we can have enough people for Perpetual Adoration! In the meantime, please read through the information below for how we will resume.
Safety Measures:
Given that there is still risk of the virus, please do not come to the chapel if you are not feeling well or have a temperature. We recommend that you take your temperature before you come to the chapel.
Please also practice social distancing. It is recommended to sit as far away from one another as you can. We have plenty of room to spread out and do this.
We also encourage you to bring your own hand sanitizer and wear a mask. However, there are some people who cannot wear masks for health and other reasons. Please do not judge or shame your brother or sister. Let us have charity for one another. Sitting more than 6 feet apart will ensure we are all adoring safely.
New Adoration Scheduling Software Application: Another good news item to share with you is that we now have an online Adoration scheduling system. This will help us:
Recruit more adorers
Allow you to look at the current schedule, and sign up for different hours online
Change your hour, and
Look for a substitute when needed
We have uploaded the Adorers who signed up and confirmed spots the past couple weeks, but please check your day, hour, and personal information (email and phone) to be sure we have you in the system correctly. Please also look at the attachment we have included with this email for how to use the system, or view it by clicking here:

What to do if you cannot make your scheduled hour: We have tried to schedule two adorers for every hour and together you both can become responsible to see that the hour is covered each week. We encourage you as prayer partners to talk to each other and work together. This works best when both of you are regularly coming each week. If you are unable to make your adoration hour, please first contact your partner. If neither you nor your partner can make the hour, please see if a friend or family member can fill in for you. If these measures fail, please go to
https://adorationpro.org/stjohnleesburg and request a substitute for your holy hour.
Any questions: please contact your hourly coordinator (list below) or the administrator at
[email protected] and we will be able to help you.
In anticipation of your upcoming date with our Lord, here is a lovely quote from St John Vianney and attached is a document entitled “48 things to do at Eucharistic Adoration.”
“What happiness do we not feel in the Presence of God, when we are alone at His feet…
Redouble your fervor; you are alone to adore your God
His eyes rest upon you, and you alone.”
~ St John Vianney
Thank you again and God bless you!
