As we continue into Lent, the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council looks back on a very productive month of March. It all started with Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, where the council held its annual Pancake dinner. A mere 10 days later, the council took to the kitchen once again for the Lenten Soup Supper. While neither event was a fundraiser, the generosity of the parish enabled the council to cover much of the costs of both events and donate the remainder to the poor box.
The following week, the Knights had one of the membership drives, which led to the exemplification of nine new members into the 3rd degree. While seven were from our parish, we also had 2 other parishes from the diocese join us. This was the second ceremony to be held in the Church, and a special thanks to Fr. Ed for serving as the Chaplin for this special event!
The following Saturday, the Knights sponsored the penultimate Heven in Your Home gathering for this cycle. Once again, the event was able to draw over 80 people as this ministry continues to grow strong, with the final one coming in May!
Finally, the Knights held a fundraiser to close the month with a parking event at Morven Park. These parking events raise thousands of dollars for the council to distribute to the church, community, and Catholic organizations. Thank you all who helped out or supported an of these activities, events, and fundraisers!
